Clark works hard to clean up the destruction done by Zod and develops what he thinks is his first cold apparently caused by his powerless time in the Phantom Zone. However, he soon discovers it is a new power: super breath! Meanwhile, Lois lands a job at The Inquisitor, the local tabloid and begins to investigate Clark, which forces Chloe to try to keep her off Clark's tail. Lana moves in the Luthor mansion with Lex, who believes someone is following him, which quickly proves to be true after he is kidnapped by a renegade government agent after he had witnessed Lex commit crimes during his possession by Zod. Also, Lionel meets with Oliver Queen, a young and reclusive millionaire and an old boarding school friend of Lex's, who arrives in Metropolis and offers his business to Luther Corp.
